Michelson Diagnostics was founded by Jon Holmes and four colleagues from the (now defunct) optical engineering company Sira Technology Ltd, with the aim of exploiting IP developed by the team when they were Sira's Biomedical Instruments Group.

First images from the prototype OCT Microscope obtained at Gloucester Royal Hospital demonstrate the power of the Multi-Beam OCT technology to resolve fine clinical detail - results published in 'Biophotonics International'

£600k invested in Michelson Diagnostics by London Seed Capital, Catapult Venture Management Ltd, and London Business Angels.

Sales of EX1301 OCT Microscope commenced.

Prototype 'VivoSight' Multi-beam OCT scanner with hand-held probe demonstrated to acclaim at BiOS2009, San Jose.

June 2009

First US sale announced.

VivoSight OCT Product launched with CE mark for clinical use.
Quantitative clinical trials started on skin cancer.

August 2009

ISO13485 accreditation awarded, enabling Michelson Diagnostics to develop and manufacture medical products.

November 2009

Integral Corporation appointed exclusive distributor for VivoSight scanner in Japan.

January 2010

US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) awarded 510(k) clearance for VivoSight OCT topical scanner.
